AEP Grad Records The River and the Road for Live Video
AEP Grad Ben Huntus recorded Americana/Folk group “the River and the Road” live off the floor at PAVI/Blue Wave Studios as part of a video shoot to promote the band.
The band is releasing their new CD this Saturday at the Media Club. Be sure to check it out.

DOA’s Joey Keithley Lectures at PAVI
Punk legend, D.O.A. front man and Sudden Death Records president Joey Keithley lectured the live sound classes. Joey discussed the ins and outs of touring and working as a tour manager.
D.O.A. is about to embark on a 43 date tour covering Europe, the U.K., U.S.A. and Canada.

FDA student Luiza Gurgel Interning at Bear Pictures
Current Film & Digital Arts student Luiza Gurgel has just started her PAVI internship at Bear Studios.
Quotes Luiza, “Being at PAVI has helped me understand the areas where I can work in the film business. The most important thing about this school is how they are always ready to assist the students in getting an internship, to make networking connections and really get a foothold in the industry. “

Students Record the Rivera’s
Award winning singer/producer/promoter Robbe Hardnette was in the PAVI studios on Wednesday March 7th to record the female vocal group The Rivera’s with AEP students Jeremy Enns and Mike Vande Zande. Robbe was a back-up singer with Marvin Gaye and has worked with many artists including Prince, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson and Brian Adams.
Robbe now mentors youth in Vancouver and runs Street Beat Vancouver. He is currently organizing and “Stop the Bullying” school concert tour.

PAVI Grad Starts Record Company
PAVI Grad Garret Friesen has started a record label called Truespin Records. To date over 20 artists from all over the world have been signed.

FDA Students Shoot Green Man
The Film and Digital Arts class experimented with chrominance and luminance keying as part of their Digital Editing & Effects class. This class is taught by former X-Files editor and Electronic Arts Visual Effects Specialist Tom Raycove.

AEP Students Engineer “Blazing Saddle” Band
AEP student engineers Tito Kurc and Adam Jeal recorded in Blue Wave Studio A with the “Blazing Saddles Band. They recorded the full band live off the floor plus overdubs of bagpipes, gang vocals, a marching snare and acoustic guitar.
FDA Students Shoot Indie Short in Studio B
FDA students Mike Swanson, Leo Wong, Tori Swindells and Andrew Persoon from AEP were all in Blue Wave studio B to help film an indie short called “The Interrogation”. They directed the actors and did lighting as well as ADR/dialogue recording.
